A day at the beach with children

As soon as the weather permits, we seek the beach en masse. Young people, mothers with children, entire families, on the beach you escape the heat and the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Children can romp in the water or play in the sand. Bring sunscreen, food and drinks in a cooler, a blanket and some toys. That's all you need for an afternoon of fun at the beach. If the sun shines very brightly, an umbrella or tent can provide some shade.

Safe swimming in the sea

The sea is not only fun, there are also dangers lurking in the water. In several places, from June 1 to September 1, the Lifeguard is present. Flags on the beach indicate whether you can swim safely. A red-and-yellow flag indicates that you can safely enter the sea. The area between the flags is a guarded bathing area with lifeguards. Water sports are not allowed. An orange windsock indicates you may bathe and swim, but floating objects such as air mattresses and inflatable tires are prohibited due to the wind. Here's how to avoid losing your child

The beach can be quite overwhelming when it is very crowded. Even though your child may be able to get to the water independently, finding the towel again is sometimes a challenge. Therefore, walk with them a first time and look back. Help your child find landmarks so he or she knows where you are. Also show where the nearest lifeguard is located. It may happen that you lose sight of your child. Or that your child can no longer find you. In that case, always go to the lifeguard. They raise a white flag with a question mark and bring you back together.
